Al Ghoty Import Export

That's Neukölln. Al Ghoty Import Export. Fantastic!

Vacuum cleaner featuring velvet

The velvet vacuum cleaner. What the heck?

Christian priest goes comedy

That's really funny. Appearently a christian priest (Ingmar Neserke) in Neukölln does comedy. I do not know him, but the poster is really funny featuring Merkel (holding a tiny Westerwelle), Obama and Putin. And - I guess himself with the guitar.

Stupid locks

Well. We recently moved in our new flat. And finally we also got also our cellar. And a lock. Well putting valuable stuff into a cellar in Berlin is - stupid.

But this lock is especially stupid. I had to laugh when I first saw it.

The good thing is that nobody will break the lock - when using the screwdriver is simpler... ;)

Viva - viva colonia - aeh sorry - polonia!

Park control in Prenzlauer Berg

There are some things I hate in cities. Searching for a space to park my car is one thing. Paying for that is the other. And it seems as if whole Prenzlauer Berg is mined with pay-for-parking spaces. You virtually can't find a parking place for free.

I don't like it at all - what sounds contradicting, but I really do not want to pay for parking my car. Never ever. This is a hidden tax. The only people that profit from it are:

  • The manufacturers of tens of thousands of signs "Payment necessary from Mo-Fr 9am- 12pm". How do they get the contracts - WTF?
  • The manufacturers of those payment machines. How do they get the contracts - WTF?
  • The state that gets people off the streets. How? Simple - the state gives them the great opportunity to control if cars in that areas payed their fee correctly.
Sure. People living in the area might profit because they can buy a parking space for 1 year. But - they also have to pay.

At the end everybody looses. And-  I can only guess - but it might have a significant impact on business owners in the area. At the end it seems it might have a significant negative impact on the whole area.
In short: Shame on you - government of Prenzlauer Berg. Give us our tax back!

Empty streets. Somewhere 1km away are those funny payment machines :)

Bullshit politics in Germany in the public media

Germany has a strange television and radio system. There is a huge amount of state controlled television and radio stations available. There are two nation wide radio stations (ARD, ZDF) and each state has at least one television and radio station. Bavaria has for instance several television stations and additional stations for each substate, which is equally true for the radio stations.

Recently these television stations extended their reach into the web. And we got news, tv series in the web.

Sounds nice.
It is nice.
Wait. No. It's not.

Where does the money come from? Of course from the taxpayer. And from 2011 each household in Germany should pay 17 Euros for that. Wow. That's a simple model. And - of course - the 17 Euros are demanded by the chiefs of the radio and tv stations themselves.

That's bureaucracy at its best.

For what?

For:
Stupid television series,
damn stupid cooking series,
superstupid radio stations,
ultrastupid radio moderations.

Additionally this state controlled radio and television business kills innovation by annihilating the private sector.

If you want to watch something you should have the possibility to pay for it (via pay per view of advertisements).

BUT I DO NOT WANT TO BE FORCED TO PAY FOR STUFF I DO NOT WANT TO WATCH. AND NO - I DO NOT EVEN HAVE A TV. KILL THAT MONSTER.

Recently in Berlin Mitte at Tacheles - BP and nuclear oil spill fun

That's funny.

Looks like an official BP flyer. But it's a fatal critic and says: We could also have built nuclear power plants. BP.

Nice!

Casino traps in Berlin

Casinos are fun. In Las Vegas. Otherwise it's the poor man's tax.

It really makes me sad to see how many casinos opened in the last years. Especially in areas like Neukölln with huge social problems this is not really nice.

Sometimes I think: People should be intelligent enough not to spend their money in casinos. On the other hand I think: The state should make laws against it.

At the end I guess it's a problem of the people. And a problem of education and goals in life. At least the state should enable people to educate themselves.

Or are all those casinos only money laundering facilities?

Butterfly shopping cart

A cocooned shopping cart in the Kreuzberg area.

The small notice in the front says: And when I am big I'll become a butterfly. Never saw that species before.
